Buffy's Dawn to Get a Spin-Off? by John Oliver

From Katrillion - September 29th, 2001

There are less than two weeks till the new season of "Buffy," so here's more news to get all you "Slayer" groupies psyched for the two-hour premiere.

In a recent interview with TV Guide Online, Michelle Trachtenberg said her character, Dawn, may get her own spin-off series. The teen actress said, "I've been asked if a spin-off or a continuation (of the show) would be of interest to me, and pretty much it is."

But don't get your jitters in a bundle just yet. "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon is merely entertaining the idea of a Dawn spin-off in case star Sarah Michelle Gellar ever leaves the show.

In other "Buffy" news, the gossipers over at Eonline have reported that soap star Amber Tamblyn will be a new addition to the cast, but her role hasn't been disclosed as of yet. Tamblyn currently stars on "General Hospital" as Emily Quartermain.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" premieres Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. ET on UPN.
